Charlie Pearce was a 17 year old, dedicated volunteer firefighter that lost his life on April 1, 2007 when he lost control of his pickup on a wet country road and struck a tree. Charlie loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed being in the outdoors. He was a true sportsman without a doubt. After his death, Jarratt Volunteer Fire Dept started a scholarship fund in Charlie's name. Southern VA Bassmasters started this memorial tournament to be held annually in memory of Charlie to raise money to be donated to this scholarship fund.

Big fish caught by 3rd Place Team and weighed in at 6.02 lbs. There was a total of 8 fish weighed in that were over 4 lbs.

The 5th Annual Charlie Pearce Memorial Tournament will be held on Sat, March 31st 2012 (6:30-3:30pm) on  Lake Gaston (Peahill Creek Landing).Entry fee is $100 with 90% payback.
